 Second Chance

 

About 70% of youth in the juvenile justice system have a diagnosable mental health condition, compared to 20% of youth in the general population. The majority of youth who are involved in the justice system commit misdemeanor offenses.

In 2016, there were 1,086 youth committed to five state secure facilities, 126 youth in halfway houses, and 114 youth in contract care facilities in Texas.

At New Nation Center we will be deeply involved in changing this number and helping to turn these troubled youth into outstanding citizens. We will offer, 

Continuing Education ( GED or College)

Health and Awareness

Career Development

Counseling 

Image Development

Legal Services (post conviction)

Housing 

This program will be available for all youth who are currently or recently release from a juvenile justice facility.  Acceptance into the program may or may not be a condition of the court system or parole board. All youth who enter into this program must complete a total of 150 hour of community service of the course of 6 months. Both boys and girls will have to opportunity to participate in all activities that the center offers.
